Shopping Basket features

The Ordering module of eAccounts can be added to your web site as an instant shopping basket. Receive orders directly from the public and cut down on the work your staff have to provide.

The target market would be any company selling 100+ products but want an easy way of linking the web "Shopping Basket" to their existing accounting system.

No HTML, ASP or Java knowledge is required to maintain the Shopping Basket since the 200+ configuration settings are form driven.

A full "Offline" Windows utility is provided to give you the ability to maintain all 18 databases that make up the "Shopping Basket". This utility is 'Networkable' and allows you to "Test" your data before submitting the update to the "Web". Note that only changes get submitted so updates are very fast. An example of the Shopping Basket in use is for a worldwide marine mail-order ("Boat") has deployed 5,000 of its products on its system and supports 15,000 customers. Boat's Shopping Basket solution, includes customized graphics, which were deployed in a very short time.

By placing your order-entry system on-line, you can receive faxed, printed or e-mailed order placement confirmations within 30-seconds of an order being confirmed. An e-mail confirmation is sent to the person placing the order at the same time.

Installation is fast, typically a business with 5000 products and 1500 customers (with special pricing) can be installed and running in less than 4 hours.

You can update your Shopping Basket with new products, pricing & customers from your existing computer system data, on a hourly, daily, or weekly basis.

The Shopping Basket system database can contain an unlimited number of products and supports up to eight pricing levels including a customer/stock pricing matrix file for implementing special customer pricing schemes into the Shopping Basket.

While other web-based order-processing programs have limits to the number of products entered into the system, the Shopping Basket easily handles over 50,000 stock items and provides a powerful search engine to locate these products.(One of our clients has 21,000 items)

If your Shopping Basket is being setup for "Retail Customers" (like when you visit Amazon.com) a link can be added to your existing web site that will take the customer seamlessly to your "Shopping Basket".
If the system is being setup for "Charge" customers (i.e. a wholesaler with account customers with special pricing) a different link is used that will first require the customer to login before accessing the "Shopping Basket" with their special pricing. Note: You can have both types of customer in the same shop!

The system can host "Shopping Basket" links in different currencies. This feature is especially beneficial to companies who wish to target sales in different countries.

The Shopping Basket system can create numerous graphical reports for those with appropriate access rights. Some of the reports and graphs include: Hits per day over the last 10 days.
Orders per day for a week time period
Report on top sales by product for one week
Web-site maintenance reports listing data errors, broken links, and invalid Find Keys, links etc

Each product item supports up to 40 character codes, plus 2000 characters of long text and can be linked to GIF, JPG or BMP image files.

All of the Shopping Basket databases can be remotely updated from your current stock/ordering system using a single update file transferred via FTP.

Once transferred the Shopping Basket's server will automatically check and update the data into its own format. The system accepts data from any DOS, Linux, Unix, and Windows based host stock/ordering databases.

The automated updating process, which takes place on the Shopping Basket's Server, does not interfere with customers who are placing orders from the shopping basket database. The Shopping Basket Server upload is typically complete in less than two minutes.

Multiple key words with the same meaning can be linked to each other. This allows shoppers to search for items contained in the database by using related words, increasing the search engines location capabilities. This feature is especially helpful for shoppers trying to locate words that are used differently in other geographical areas, such as "Spanner," "Wrench," and "Chrome Monkey," which all carry the same definition.

The product search screen contains 9 different search options these can be configured to show or not show depending on the type of customer. For example:

Links to up to 3 Special Page's (These are optional and user definable for example "Monthly Specials" or "Seconds" )

For 'Charge Customers" who know the "product codes" there is a "Fast Load" option. So to search for a product (enter product code) and then "Add It"
